Philadelphia Skyline
A little over six months ago, I moved from Minnesota to Center City for medical school and it wasn’t long before I loved the area, hot as it was in early August. With my newly adopted life on a bicycle, I discovered the charm of colorful row houses, honking streets, and cramped cafes. My favorite scene in this city is the view I pass everyday biking across the South Street bridge: the Philadelphia skyline. I find myself drawn to its reflective geometry, mirrored in the Schuylkill River below. I’ve painted the skyline three times, the most memorable of which was painted as a plein air work while admiring the view from the balcony of my medical school.
